I am announcing my candidacy for the Board of Directions. I have 41 years’ experience at the Oregon Country Fair as a Booth Rep for the Ritz Sauna and Showers.

Over the years I have served on the Board and as a member of Personnel Committee. We built the Grateful Dead stage in 1982; provided the material and built the first recycling dock and the first hand-wash station in Politics Park. The Ritz built and maintains Just Say Please Park, the Dragon Fountain, Chrysalis structure and hand-wash station.

I was on the Board of Directors for Head Start of Lane County from 1999 through 2013. During my tenure I was twice board chair and twice board vice-chair.

I am a strong believer in the democratic process and transparency in governance and decision making. I am committed to seeking input from the Fair Family on critical issues before and after decisions are made. I will add a valuable perspective to the policy making process as a booth representative.

As a licensed general contractor for over 30 years I practiced Getting To Yes, helping parties with competing interests find reasonable compromises in complex and challenging situations. Professionally, I provide consulting and design services related to making homes that work for people with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities; offering presentations, workshops and trainings for families, provider organizations, governmental agencies and individuals on the importance of the physical environment in promoting choice, independence and self-determination. Currently I am working to downsize and support closure of state institutions for people with I/DD in Georgia, California, New York and Illinois.
